Anticipation!

Well, it is that time of year again! Time for the TX Ren. Festival (yes, I wimped out and abbreviated it cuz there is only like a 25% chance I'd spell it right!). . .Joe and I try to go every year, sometimes with the kids, sometimes without. . . Since last year we took the kids and my parental units. . .this year we are going solo! errr. . . make that DUET? haha. Just Joe and myself and a weekend away! We are going up the night before to stay in Conroe so we can get an early start and enjoy the full day! We'll be going on the very last day of the festival so maybe the vendors will be willing to make some awesome deals? Doubt it. . .but oh well! I'm also super excited we are meeting up with an old friend and her hubby there!!! It has been forever, and although we talk almost every day via Yahoo Messenger I can't wait to see her! So, now the countdown begins. . . .only 24 days to go!!!

Last Hooorah Before School 2008

So we loaded up the truck and we went to Almost Heaven for one last camping trip before the new school year starts. We left Thursday mid day and got to the campgrounds (it's only about 45 min. from the house) and set up the camper, turned on the a/c and headed to Pearland for lunch and groceries.

So, 2 hours later after filling up on Buffalo Wild Wings, hitting up Walmart AND HEB. . .and lets not mention how much $$ later. . .we headed back to the campsite for 3 and a half glorious days of camping. . . if u can really call it camping? I dunno . . . we were definitely NOT roughing it!

Needless to say, we had a blast and the kids got to swim, fish, ride the heck outta their bikes, watch movies and play video games (mostly Guitar Hero for Corben and Singstar for Kamryn) with the projector on the back of the camper. Of course Joe did the gourmet bbq stuff. . .Kristi, Charlie and Zane; Mom and Dad; Joe's pal Dustin, his wife Nikki, and their son Aiden; Danny, Jessica, Anyssa and Eva all came out on Saturday for swimming, goofing off and awesome fajitas.

I was so leery about buying a camper, but we have had a blast with it, even if we only go 45 min. down the road. . .it's away from home and cheaper than motels!
